FOS is an emulsifier used in blending water soluble and non soluble ingredients by altering the surface properties of the ingredients and therefore are also called surfactants. Using appropriate doses of FOS increases enzyme activity to digest feed proteins better, increasing the digestion rate by atleast 75%. It has also shown increase gut fermentation efficiency thereby reducing gas production.
